ELKHORN HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Preserving Elkhorn's Proud Past

The First Century of Progress
Elkhorn History
1967-1995

Welcome to our website!

NOTE: The museum is now Thursdays 1-4pm

Elkhorn's history was first documented in the book, "1867-1967 Elkhorn, Nebraska, The First Century of Progress," which was compiled and produced by the Elkhorn Women's Club Centennial Book Committee. Much of the credit for this initial history of Elkhorn is due to the hard work of Mrs. Roy (Bess) Johnson, Mrs. William E. (Caroline) Holling, and Mrs. Elmer L. Peterson.

In 1995, the eighth grade class of Carol Richart, here after known as the EHS class of 2000, produced, "Elkhorn History 1967-1995."

Today the effort to preserve Elkhorn's proud past continues through the efforts of Patsy Schmidt and the Elkhorn Historical Society. To learn more about the society click on the links above. For an online look at Elkhorn's history, click on any of the links on the left.
